Stripe

Accept payments directly within your forms.

Connect Stripe to collect payments inside your Clipform. Respondents pay without leaving the form, and the money settles directly in your own Stripe account.

How it works

  1. Connect your Stripe account from the Clipform dashboard
  2. In the form builder, add a Payment node and set the amount and currency
  3. Respondents enter their card details inline and pay without leaving the form
  4. The payment settles directly in your connected Stripe account

Clipform uses Stripe Connect with direct charges: each payment is made on your own Stripe account, so you are the merchant of record. The charge, payout, Stripe's processing fee, receipts, and any disputes all live in your Stripe account.

Setup

1. Connect Stripe

  1. Open Integrations in your Clipform dashboard
  2. Click Connect Stripe Account
  3. Complete Stripe's hosted onboarding (or connect an existing Stripe account)
  4. You're redirected back to Clipform once Stripe confirms your account

Your account must have charges enabled before it can take payments. The onboarding status shows on the Integrations page; if Stripe still needs details, you can resume onboarding from there.

2. Add a Payment node

  1. Open your form in the builder
  2. Add a Payment node to the canvas
  3. Set the amount and currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, or AUD)
  4. Switch the form to Live

Payments are one-time charges - each respondent pays the configured amount once.

Receipts

When a payment succeeds, Stripe emails the receipt from your account's branding - Clipform passes the respondent's email as the receipt address. Receipts aren't on by default, so turn them on in your Stripe branding settings if you want them sent automatically.

Refunds

Refunds and disputes are handled in your Stripe dashboard, not in Clipform - because payments settle directly in your account, you refund, dispute, and reconcile them there like any other Stripe charge.

When you issue a refund, Clipform reflects it back in your form's Results within seconds: the payment's status updates to Refunded or Partially refunded, and money collected adjusts accordingly (a partial refund reduces revenue by the refunded amount; a full refund removes it entirely). A webhook already delivered, or an export already taken, before the refund is not re-sent - it still reflects the amount originally charged.

Fees

Two separate fees can apply to a payment:

  • Stripe's processing fee - Stripe's own per-transaction fee, charged on your account like any other Stripe charge. This applies on every plan.
  • Clipform's platform commission - on paid plans you keep 100% of what you collect. On the free plan Clipform deducts a small commission from each payment. The exact rate is shown in the form builder when you add a Payment node, and on the pricing page.

If you refund a respondent, Stripe's processing fee follows Stripe's own rules, and Clipform's platform commission is non-refundable. Upgrading to a paid plan removes the platform commission.

Requirements

  • Charges enabled on your connected Stripe account (shown on the Integrations page after connecting). Funds pay out on your account's normal Stripe payout schedule.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect on the Stripe card in the Integrations page. Forms with Payment nodes stop accepting payments immediately.
