Share Your Form

Share your form with a link or QR code.

Once your form is live, share it with respondents using a direct link or a downloadable QR code.

Go live

Before you can share your form, it needs to be live. In the form builder, flip the status switch in the top-right corner from Draft to Live. Going live publishes your current working copy - that frozen version is what respondents see, even as you keep editing. When you have edits the live form doesn't show yet, a Publish changes button appears next to the switch to push them live.

You can switch back to Draft at any time with the same switch. Draft forms are not accessible to respondents - anyone who visits the link will see a "form not available" message. Your content is kept, so you can go live again whenever you're ready.

Why can't I go live?

If the switch is disabled and the status shows a red issue count, your form has problems that would break it for respondents. Click the issue count to see the list - clicking an issue jumps to the step that needs fixing. The checks are:

  • A reachable ending. Every form needs at least one End Screen or Redirect that respondents can actually reach. Click + Add node (or drag a connection from your final step into empty space) and pick End, then connect it to your flow.
  • No dead ends. Every step must lead somewhere - a step with no outgoing connection (that isn't an ending) blocks publishing.
  • Complete content. Steps that need configuration (for example a Redirect's destination URL) must have it filled in.

Fix the listed issues and the switch enables itself - no need to re-check anything manually.

Click Share in the top toolbar of the form builder to open the share dialog. Your form has a share link in the format:

clipform.io/abc123

Click the copy button to copy the share link to your clipboard, then paste it anywhere - emails, messages, social media, or landing pages. The share ID (the characters after clipform.io/) is also your Form ID when embedding the form on your website.

QR code

The share dialog includes a QR code that encodes your form's link. You can:

  • Download as PNG - save the QR code image to your device
  • Copy to clipboard - paste the QR code directly into a document or design tool

QR codes are useful for print materials, event badges, product packaging, posters, and any situation where respondents need to reach your form from a physical space.

Embed on your website

If you want the form to appear directly on a webpage rather than linking to it, see the Embed guide for instructions on adding Clipform to any website with a short code snippet.
